Jakhol



Jakhol is a large village located 45 km away from the Mori block of Uttarkashi District of Uttaranchal. Situated near the trekking route connecting Naitwar and Osla, it is one of the 21 villages with a temple dedicated to Duryodhana, Duryodhana Kshetra. Processions carrying the idol of Duryodhana are also taken out annually in this village.

The Rupin River flows very close to this village. Catering to both nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, Jakhol remains a popular tourist destination. Naitwar, close to Jakhol, is famous for a temple dedicated to Karna. Doni, Salra, Nanai, Gainchvan and Taluka are other places one can visit. Purola and Rajgarhi are the major cities at close quarters.

Regular bus services are available from and to Jakhol. Jolly Grant Airport serves this area. Dehradun Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
