Suraj Kund

Suraj Kund - a sacred tank in Meerut - was built by Lawar Jahawar Lal, a rich merchant, in 1714. Originally, the tank was fed by the water of Abu Nala. Now it is fed by Ganga Canal. Several temples are situated around Suraj Kund. Notable among these are Mansa Devi Temple and Baba Manohar Nath temple, built during the period of Shah Jahan.
