Lilauti Nath Temple

A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lilauti Nath is located 9 km from Lakhimpur, on the Sharada Nagar Road. It is believed that the Shivling of this temple was founded by Aswathama, the son of Drona, during the period of Mahabharata.

Later, the former kings of Mehwa re-constructed this temple. The Shivling here is unique, and changes several colors in a day.

A genuine fact is that every morning when the door of the temple is opened, the Shivling can be seen in a worshiped position with flowers and other worship items. It is believed that Aswathama, who is immortal, worship here every day before opening the door.

A fair is organized during Shrawan month (July) and Amawasya of every month.
