A town of historical significance, Gangiri is in Aligarh District. It is about 43 km from Aligarh and 90 km from Agra.

A monument, which is now under the purview of the Directorate of Archeology, Uttar Pradesh, erected in memory of the brave men who fell during the First War of Indian Independence (1857), is the main attraction .

Aligarh Junction Railway Station and Agra Civil Enclaves serve the town.
