Faizabad District




The district of Faizabad is situated in Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Sarayu. The total area is approximately 4,511 sq km and the population is over 2 million. Faizabad receives an average annual rainfall of 1,035 mm and the climate is pleasant throughout the year.

At Faizabad City, there are sugar refineries and oil mills. It is a center for neighboring areas to market their produce including grain, oilseeds, cotton, and tobacco.

Gulab Bari, Maqbura, Guptar Ghat, and Military Temple are some of the important tourist destinations. The birthplace of Lord Ram, Ayodhya, is a part of Faizabad District.
