Spotted Dove



Spotted Dove (Streptopelia cheninsis) is a gray and pinkish brown bird with black and white spots on its hind neck. It is about 30 cm in size. Its upper parts are brown, broadly streaked with black.

The bird feeds on grass seeds and grains. Nests are made out of twigs, grasses and roots in low trees or tall bushes, usually near open ground.

The bird can be seen in Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Tamil Nadu.
