Mannargudi




Mannargudi is a major town situated in Tiruvarur District of Tamil Nadu. It is about 56 km from Nagapattinam. Mannargudi is accessible from Kumbakonam via Nidamangalam, which is a 35 km drive.

Major point of attraction here is the Mannargudi Vishnu Temple, dedicated to Sri Rajagopalaswami (Lord Vishnu). Another point of attraction is the Shri Mannargudi Teerth, dedicated to Mallinath - the 19th Jain tirthankar.

Other tourist attractions situated nearby include Muthupet Mangrove Forest (29 km), Vaduvoor Bird Sanctuary (14 km) and Nannilam a pilgrim site.

Tiruchirapalli Airport serves Mannargudi. Nidamangalam Railway Station, on the Thanjavur-Tiruvarur rail route, is the nearest railhead. Thiruvarur Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railway station. By road, Mannargudi is well linked with Tiruvarur, Nidamangalam (12 km), Thanjavur, Kottur, Orathanadu and Kumbakonam.
