Fruit Show is one of the major cultural events held at Coonoor, about 19 km from Ooty, in Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. Organized by the Nilgiris Flower and Fruit Show Committee, this week long annual event is celebrated at Sim’s Park in the last week of May.
The main objective of the show is to create awareness to fruit growers and farming society. A wide variety of fruits including different types of mangoes, rubber fruit, durian, butter fruit, passion fruit, plums, pears and peaches are displayed during the fest. Competitions are also conducted during the show.
The Fruit Show attracts thousands of tourists as well as local people.
