Varshey

A Tourist Spot



Varshey, a huge Rhododendron forest, is an ideal trekking area at a height of about 10000 feet. It is an important tourist center of Sikkim with a view of the Himalayan mountains, especially the Kanchenjunga, and a variety of flora and fauna. Here 60 different kinds of rhododendrons including magnolia, hemlock, and orchids are found. The flowering season from mid march to April end is the best time to visit.

The nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra near Siliguri in West Bengal. The New Jalpaiguri Station is the nearest railhead.
