Mangani Festival is a festival of Pondicherry that falls in the month of July. The festival lasts for one month. A feast is also conducted which is dedicated to Karaikal Ammaiyar. The innovative event from her life is performed for 4 days. In a decorated palanquin, the image of Lord Shiva is taken out through the streets at which the inhabitants throw mangoes from the top of the house. Large crowds of people visit this place to watch this festival.
