Jagamohana

A Rectangular Prayer Hall Of a Temple


The Jagamohana is a prayer hall which is rectangular in shape, usually known as 'mandapa' in north India. It is also called a 'pita deul' and the roof is in the form of a sloping terrace, above which is a clerestory over which there is another sloping roof with a flat top. Jagamohana is also intricately carved with various sculptures.
