Goncho Dare is located in the
Balpakram National Park in South Garo Hills District of Meghalaya. Inside Balpakram there are several mysterious and unnatural phenomena that cannot be satisfactorily explained by modern science and logic. One such place is Goncho Dare.
Gonchos are evil spirits and Goncho Dare is the steep rocks in a canyon in the national park, which is haunted by the Gonchos. It is said that Gonchos take away people from their home and lead them through steep cliffs and inaccessible rock faces without causing any physical harm.
