Govindhgarh Fort is situated on the banks of a large lake near Chitrakoot in Satna District. It was at this fort that the Maharaja of Reeva originally stayed. It has an arched terrace, overlooking the lake. Nearby the fort lies the Keoti falls.
Chitrakoot is situated about 128 km from the southwest of Allahabad. There are regular buses which connect it with other nearby cities and towns. The nearest railhead and airport are at Satna and Khajuraho.
