Gondiya, one of the subdivisions of the Gondiya District, is a small city of Maharashtra. Gondiya is about 150 km northeast of Nagpur.
Since the city holds a large number of rice mills, it is popularly known as Rice City. Agriculture is the main occupation and paddy is the main cultivation of the people there. Wainganga is the important river flowing through Gondiya.
