This beautiful temple is dedicated Lord Shiva. Two shrines are situated within the same chuttambalam, one is Swayambhu and in the other is the Lingam. The temple holds three major festivals - Thiruvathira, Shivaratri and Pradhishta Dinam.

The temple is about 8 km east of Guruvayoor Temple, on the Guruvayoor-Thrissur road. Guruvayoor Railway Station provides easy access for the devotees to the temple.
