Tirur



Situated 41 km south of Kozhikode, Tirur witnessed the Wagon Tragedy of 1921.

Trikkandiyur, nearby, is the birth place of Ezhuthachan - father of Malayalam literature. Chamravattom Sastha Temple, Chandanakavu and Padinjarekara beach are the nearby attractions. Truprangode, the only temple in Kerala with Garuda as a deity, is 6 km away.

Tirur has a railway station on the Mangalore- Chennai rail line and is connected to major cities and towns in Kerala.
