Gangibavi



Gangibavi located six km away from Shiggoan at Haveri in Karnataka is a small, serene, sedate and unspoiled village. This picturesque village attracts a lot of devotees from most parts of north Karnataka during Makara Sankranthi. The devotees take bath in the small pond near the Rameshwara temple. It is believed that the River Ganges flows into this pond during Sankranthi and taking bath in the waters will rid them of all sins. The architectural excellence of Rameshwara Temple captivates the eyes of visitors. This place is enriched with large caves.

The office of the 10th battalion of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) is situated in Gangibavi village. Haveri Railway Station is the closest railway station. The nearest airport is at Bellary (119 km). Haveri Bus Station located at the heart of the city connects Gangibavi with major cities and towns in Karnataka.
