Channagiri is one of the hills set amidst the Nandi Hill ranges, located 56 km from Bangalore. Densely covered with shrubs, it is a secluded area used rarely by trekkers and other teams to enjoy nature at its best. Trekking starts from a temple near Sultanpet and ends at the hill top, taking about 2 ½ hours of walking up the hill. There is a small temple within a fort which stands in ruins. From Channagiri, one can have a clear view of the 150372Kalwarbetta and Nandi Hills which provide splendid views across the plains and is also ideal for hiking.
