Zangla Monastery is located at Zangla in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. Zangla is about 35 km from Padum.
The monastery is situated at an altitude of 3500 m. It was once the seat of the throne in Zanskar. A nunnery and an old rope suspension bridge are the nearby attractions.
Zangla is the take-off point for the Padum-Lamayuru and the Padum-Hemis treks. The monastery can be accessed from Kargil on the Kargil-Padum road.
