Vernag lies to the west of Wangom whereas Dandpur is to the east. The northern and southern parts are bounded by Achhibal and Hera Ahlan respectively. Wangom is a comfortable base for trekkers and mountaineers.

One can approach Wangom from Qasba Naubug, which is about 10 km away. Buses ply from Doru, Hingpur and Lohur towards this village. The convenient railway stations are at Jammu, and Udhampur.
