Nowshera



Nowshera is one of the prominent towns in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir. Perched at an altitude 758 m, it is spread over an area of 1144 acres.

In spite of Pak Occupied Kashmir insurgencies and proxi-war efforts has been made for the development of this town. Rajal Canal is the main project existing here and has a potential of 2800 hector area.

Places of tourist interest include Nowshera Sarai, Shahi Mosque and the remains of a Hammam (located close to the PWD rest house). Excursions to Mangla Mata Temple (12 km), Nadpur Sarai (10 km) and Mangaladevi Fort (18 km) will be an enchanting experience.

Nowshera is about 45 km from Rajouri and 124 km from Jammu.
