Phanjila lies on the borders of Kargil and Leh districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Located at a height of 12,782 ft above sea level, Phanjila is a wayside haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers. It is also a favorite track for the bike riders along this route.
Drogulika is about 20 km from here. Phanjila is a comfortable base for trekkers and mountaineers who are on their way from Wanla towards Hinju. Wanla Monastery, constructed during the time of Lama Rinchen Zangpo, is a nearby attraction.
Phanjila is accessible by road from Hanupatta, Tarklak and Nurla. It can also be accessed on the Kargil – Leh route. The nearest railhead is at Jammu.
