Kother is a village located about 2 mile from Acchabal in Anantnag District, Jammu and Kashmir. The place is famous for the two ancient temples and a spring. The name Kother was derived from Kapatesvara, which is a contraction of Papasudana-Kapategvara. The sacred tank here, built by King Bhoja of Malva, is also worth visiting.
Kother can be approached from Acchabal, about 8 km from Anantnag, on the Acchabal-Kashtwar road. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi and the airport is Srinagar Airport. Kother is well connected by road with Srinagar.
