Gauri Kund Spring




Gauri Kund is a legendary spring located in Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated near Sudh Mahadev Temple, which is about 120 km from Jammu.

Legend has it that Goddess Parvati used to bathe in this spring before commencing her daily prayers at the Sudh Mahadev Temple. After this the spring came to be known as Gauri Kund.

Situated a few kilometers from the spring, Mantalai, surrounded by lush deodar forests, is associated with the legend of the marriage of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati.
