Una District



Una District is situated in the south-western part of Himachal Pradesh. It has a well developed industrial sector and the main centers are Mehatpur, Gagret, Tahliwal and Amb. The climate ranges from semi-tropical to semi-arctic. Guava, black berry, kinnoo and pear are the locally grown fruits and vegetables include potato, cauliflower, cabbage, brinjal, ladies finger, yam and cucumber. People speak Punjabi and Hindi.

The major festivals are Prakash Utsav and Baisakhi. The important places to visit are Chintpurni Devi Temple, Joggi Panga, Dharamshala Mahanta, Dhunsar Mahadev temple, Talmehra, Shivbari temple, Gagret and mini secretariat.
