Udhwa Bird Sanctuary, spread over an area of 5.65 sq km, is the only bird sanctuary in Jharkhand
. It is situated near the Udhwa Lake (also Patauda Lake) in Sahibganj District
The sanctuary is a natural habitat for a variety of birds including Brahminy kites, fishing eagles, house swifts and palm swifts flying at dizzying speeds. A large variety of migratory birds from Europe and Siberia arrive here during winter and this makes it a haven for the birdwatchers.
By road, the sanctuary is easily accessible from Rajmahal and Sahibganj.
