Velim Lake




Velim Lake, about one and a half hours drive from Baga, is a popular halt for bird watchers in Goa.

A roosting site for vultures, the lake also shelters common teal, pintail, lesser whistling duck, cotton pygmy goose, bronze-winged and pheasant-tailed jacanas, barn and wood sandpiper. Other birds such as Pacific golden plover, woolly necked stork, lesser adjutant stork, crested serpent eagle, Eurasian sparrow hawk, Brahminy kite and black kite are also spotted.
