Lesser Adjutant Stork




Lesser Adjutant Stork (Leptotilos javanicus) is a large stork with black wings and white belly. Size varies from 122 to 129 cm. It has a heavy light brown bill. The bird feeds on reptiles, frogs and fish. The bird inhabits paddy fields, open burnt or flooded grassy areas, mud banks and mangroves.

Lesser Adjutant Stork can be seen in the Kaziranga National Park, Assam.
