Valmiki National Park




Valmiki National Park in the West Champaran District of Bihar, occupies 335 sq km of the Valmiki Sanctuary. The forest area with far-reaching savannah lands and swamps, enables teeming wildlife. With tigers dominating the landscape, the other animals found here are wolf, sloth bear, deer, leopard, python, peafowl, sambars, nilgais, leopards, hyenas, Indian civets, jungle cats, hog deer and wild dogs. The best time to visit the park and sanctuary is October and June. It can be accessed easily from Bettia by road and rail. Patna Airport (100 km) is the nearest air port.
