Bettiah




Bettiah, the administrative headquarters of West Champaran District, is a small town situated near the Indo-Nepal border, 150 km north-west of Patna, in Bihar. It is a major industrial and agricultural trade center in the district.

Places of tourist interest include the Maharaja's Palace, Kaali Bagh Mandir, Sagar Pokhar, Circuit House, Roman Catholic Mission (established in 1740), Lauriya Nandangarh (28 km) and Valmiki National Park (80 km).

Patna Airport is the nearest airport. Bettiah Railway Station has connections to Muzaffarpur, Patna, New Delhi and Mumbai. By road, Bettiah is linked with Motihari and Gopalganj.
