Sankri




Sankri, a scenic village, is situated 162 km from Dehradun in Uttarkashi District. The village lies at an elevation of 1,950 m in the Tons Valley and offers a majestic view of the high snow-clad Himalayas. The village nestles among forests of chestnuts, bamboo and sycamore. This region is an absolute paradise for bird-watchers and nature-lovers. The village also serves as a base for treks to Har-Ki-Doon Valley, Borasu Pass and Shinka Pass. Taluka, Jaundhar Glacier, Osla, Naitwar and Govind Wildlife Sanctuary are nearby destinations. The nearest airport and railway station are at Dehradun. Sankri is well connected by road with Dehradun and Uttarkashi.
