Ralam




Ralam is a picturesque village situated 11 km from Sumdu across Birje Ganga Pass in Pithoragarh District. It is located at an altitude of 3,700 m. Ralam Glacier is only 15 km from here. River Gori flows through the village. It nestles among thick forests of birch, rhododendron and juniper. Ralam offers a panoramic view of the Nanda Devi Peak, Chaudhara Peak and Rajrambha Peak. Nearby interesting destinations include Panchachuli Glacier, Namik Glacier, Milam Glacier, Munsiyari, Lilam, Rargari, Mapang, Martoli and Sarpudyar. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available here.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport and the nearest railway station is Kathgodam Railway Station.
