Payagpur

Payagpur, once served as an Indian princely state, is situated in southern Shravasti District. This town lies midway between Gonda and Bahraich on the main road and rail route.

From Payagpur, one can easily access Sravasti, which is one of the most renowned of the eight Buddhist pilgrimages (the other sites being Lumbini (Nepal), Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Rajgir, Sankisa, Nalanda and Kushinagar).

Payagpur Railway Station is on the Gonda-Bahraich rail route. Amausi Airport at Lucknow is nearly 120 km from here.
