Kottaiyur

Kottaiyur is a charming village situated midway between Karaikudi and Pallattur, in Sivagangai District. It is located about 80 km east of Madurai and around 90 km south-west of Thanjavur. Chettinad lies north of Kottaiyur.

Pillaiyarpatti, Aranthangi, Tirumayam, Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple at Madurai and Pazhamuthircholai are tourist places lying within a 100 km radius from Kottaiyur.

Nearest airport is at Madurai. Kottaiyur Railway Station is on the Pudukkottai-Sivagangai rail route of the Southern Railways.
