Khag is a place of breathtaking beauty, situated in
Beerwah of
Badgam District, in
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 10 km from
Tosamaidan.
The place, surrounded by deep forests and green pastures, is at an altitude of 8,000 to 14,000 ft. It has around 30 springs providing fresh water round the year.
During summer, the caravans of nomad Bakerwals arrive along with their cattle to graze in the meadow, and in early winter they move to other warm places. The return of summer, twists the place into a dreamland with the aroma of wild flowers.
