Karauli District




Karauli District of Rajasthan covers a total area of 5,069 sq km and has a population over 1 million. It is bounded by Sawai Madhopur District in the west, Dausa and Bharatpur districts in the north, Dhaulpur District in the west and the state of Madhya Pradesh in the south.

The total annual rainfall is 68 cm. The numerous monuments, buildings, and temples give a majestic look to Karauli. Delicate stone carvings and exquisite frescoes are the specialties of these monuments. Prime attractions are Mandrayal Fort, Kaila Devi Temple, Kalyanji Timangarh Fort, Mahavirji Teerth, and Kailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary.
