Gori Valley, also known as Gori-Ganga Valley, is in Pithoragarh District
. There are many trekking routes along the Gori Valley, including Munsiyari
glaciers and an ancient trading route to Tibet, the Johar Valley. Hence it is known as a trekking paradise. The valley holds the entire Himalayan
plant species from sub tropical Sal to Alpine meadows. A wide variety of bird species, including more than 45% of the breeding bird species of the Western Himalayas and nearly 55% of breeding bird species of the Kumaon Himalayas have been recorded in this valley. The valley forms a part of Askot Wild Life Sanctuary
and Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve.
