Ganesh Image




Ganesh Image, a stone image of Ganesh of the 9th or 10th century, was un-earthed from the Injonu village, about 19 km from Roing. The image made of granite rock, clearly represents a spot bellied Ganesh in a seating posture. The image is 44 inches high and 27.5 inches wide. The lower right arm is broken from wrist and the other three arms are depicted with weapons like hand axe and conch. Rat, the mahout of Ganesh is also depicted at the bottom right of the image.
