Roing




Roing is the district headquarters of Lower Dibang Valley District in Arunachal Pradesh. This small town is located 44 km from Sadiya on the Dibang valley and 46 km east of Tinsukia, at the confluence of the rivers Lohit and Dibang. The town is famous for its Bhismaknagar fort, about 30 km from Roing, which is a heritage monument with archeological importance.

Rukminati, Ita Pukhuri, Padum Pukhuri, Kampona Pond, Kanying Nat and Bongal Yapgo are the main tourist attractions. Accommodation facilities are available at a beautiful forest lodge in the middle of a well-planned garden.

The nearest airport is at Dibrugarh in Assam. The nearest railhead is at Tinsukia. Buses are available from Sadiya (24 miles).
