Bhagirathi River

Bhagirathi River, a tributary of river Ganges, originates at the snout of a glacier located at Gaumukh. It streams through spectacular surroundings until it gets to Deoprayag, where it joins with the Alaknanda River to become the Ganges. The river is recognized as one of the most challenging white water rivers in the Himalayas. Rafting or kayaking trips are arranged on the river, from Uttarkashi to Deoprayag.
