Samalpatti is a small settlement situated on the outskirts of
Uthangarai in Krishnagiri District of Tamil Nadu. Lying at an elevation of about 1,138 ft, the town is around 4 km south of Kunnattur, 8 km north-west of Uthangarai and 9 km north-east of Dasampatti. Samalpatti Power Company Limited is the major landmark.
Tiruchirapalli, a thriving commercial center, is 168 km away. Thally, Krishnagiri Fort, Athiyamankottai, Thiruvannamalai, Kelavarapalli Dam, Krishnagiri Dam, Government Museum and Hogenakkal Waterfalls are nearby.
