Kolasib District




Kolasib, one of the districts of Mizoram, has an area of 1,372 sq km and a population of 60,980. Major towns are Kolasib and Vairengte. The customs, beliefs, practices and lifestyle of the people are unique in many respects. The languages spoken are Mizo and English. The people are of the Mongolian stock and their forefathers lived in Myanmar. Agriculture is the main occupation.
