Vandanmedu




Vandanmedu is a small town in Idukki District of Kerala. It is one of the world's largest auction centers for Cardamom. Vandanmedu is around 25 km north of Kumily.

Situated about 4,000 ft above the mean sea level, the place is dotted with lush green trees and gurgling rivulets. It is ideal for adventure tours and trekking. Carmelia Haven, one of the most eco-friendly resorts in Kerala, is situated in Vandanmedu. Murikkady, Pandikuzhi and Mangala Devi Temple are some tourist spots around the town.

Private buses, jeeps and taxis are available from Kumily and Thekkady. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport. Kottayam Railway Station and Changanacherry Railway Station are the convenient railheads from Vandanmedu.
