Beypore

Beypore is a small town on the shores of the Chaliyar River, in Kozhikode District of Kerala. Historically it was an important trade and maritime center. The place is famous for the construction of the Uru, the traditional Arabian trading vessel.

The main attraction here is the Beypore Beach. The unique feature of the beach is a long bridge made up of huge stones, which piled together for nearly 2 km, making a pathway into the sea. Other attractions around Beypore include the fishing harbor (1 km from the shipbuilding yard) and Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary, about 7 km away.

Beypore lies 10 km south of Kozhikode town. Calicut Airport is about 23 km away from the town. Kozhikode Railway Station serves Beypore.
