Sakleshpur is 40 km west of
Hassan in
Karnataka. Regarded as a coffee town, Sakleshpur is rich in coffee and cardamom plantations.
The western part of Sakleshpur forms a part of Western Ghats. Manzarabad Fort is 7 km from Sakleshpur. Another important feature of Sakleshpur is the wooden carvings found for sale on both sides of the road. Donigal is about half an hour drive from Sakleshpur.
Nearest airport is at Mangalore.
Sakleshpur Railway Station is on the Hassan-Mangalore line.
National Highway 48 passes near the town.
