Kaziranga




Kaziranga, famous for Kaziranga National Park, is situated in Golaghat District of Assam. It is the largest protected area in the Brahmaputra valley floodplains ecosystem. The land has many marshes, interconnecting streams and ox-bow lakes. Kaziranga is also well known for Assam tea.

Kaziranga Elephant Festival is the major highlights of city.

The places of attraction are Kokochang waterfalls, ruins of the ancient Numaligarh, Numaligarh Refinery and Uncle Robin's Museum. The tea gardens of Hathkhuli, Methoni, Difalu, Behora and Borchapori are also worth visiting. The closest airport is Jorhat Airport. Jakhalabandha Railway Station is the nearest railway station (43 km). National Highway 37 passes through Kaziranga.
