Sadiya

Sadiya, also known as Xadiya, is a historic site, situated in the Lakhimpur District of Assam. It was the erstwhile capital of Chutiyas - a Mongolian tribe, who were reigning there at the beginning of the 13th century.

Sadiya is blessed with places of scenic beauty along the banks of Debang, Lohit, Balijan, Kundil and Deopani rivers. Facilities are available for fishing, boating camping and picnicking. The remnants of Tantric glories are seen at Chapakhowa. Ruins of Tamresvari Temple represent one of the oldest and important temples in the region. The temple now becomes part of Arunachal Pradesh.

Roing, a beautiful town on the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh, is worth visiting.
