Kaipuzha




Kaipuzha is a low-lying village in northern Kuttanad in Kottayam District. The name Kaipuzha is derived from the numerous canals and rivers in this region. The villagers are mainly engaged in traditional paddy cultivation.

The lush green paddy fields fringed by the coconut palms at Kaipuzha provide breathtaking views. The place is famous for toddy tapping. St George’s Roman Catholic Church, an ancient church built in 1813, is a major attraction.

The villages of Neendoor and Kurumulloor are also worth visiting. One can also explore to the backwaters of Kumarakom and Alappuzha.

Kaipuzha can be approached by traveling 3 km on the Mannanam route from Pravattom junction on MC Road. The nearest railhead is Kottayam Railway Station. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport.
