Jarmundi

A taluk headquarters, Jarmundi is in the north-western part of Dumka District on Dumka – Deoghar road. It is noted for the Basukinath Temple, a Shiva temple built in the unique local architectural style. Dumka is nearly 33 km south-east, Dhanbad is around 90 km south-west and Giridih is around 80 km west of Jarmundi. Jasidih Junction Railway Station, Gaya Airport and Patna Airport serve this region.
