Yamunotri Glacier, also known as the Kalinda Parbat, is in the
Tehri Garhwal District of
Uttaranchal. The Glacier is the source of the famous river
Yamuna. It is located at a height of 4420 m and was the home of sage Asit. Yamunotri Glacier is near the Banderpoonch Peaks in the Mussourie range of the Lower Himalayas. Just 6 km below the glacier is the
Yamunotri Temple.
